Hatch & Match is Hatch's invite-only tech curation programme that directly scouts for the most suitable deep-tech solution to match with a clearly defined challenge.
The core is intention of challenge-solution fit: Distilling challenges through careful framing and analyses, identifying winning approaches, and tailored scouting of solutions from our international networks and proprietary database. This is how we align all stakeholders towards pre-defined and mutually agreed upon outcomes, to fast-track their development towards the victory picture.

Designed for challenge owners with clear outcomes and targets in mind, Hatch & Match’s applies Hatch’s expertise in challenge framing and tech scouting: The former to scope innovations to be more achievable and solvable, and the latter to cut through the noise of the market and surface only best-fit solutions.
Like a key to a lock, by putting the right tech solution in the hands of those who need it most, this programme can unlock the true potential of end-users – one challenge at a time.

Hatch & Match highlights Hatch’s essential core capability of tech scouting and curation. Rather than casting a wide net, this programme surfaces a curated group of technologies best positioned to deliver mission impact within the requirements of the challenge owners. Here are some examples.
Contact UsNose-Computer Interface technology to detect hazardous compounds with high sensitivity.
Solution for outdoor counting of crowds for events and urban public space safety management.
Forensic scene digitalisation tools for outdoor crime scene mapping.
Hatch & Match streamlines the journey of identifying a well-defined public safety use-case from problem-scoping to developing a working solution. The end-goal is to create a win-win opportunity: Challenge owners gain access to a wider range of technologies, and start-ups find alternative commercial opportunities and gain insights into the public safety domain – which traditionally has high barriers to entry.
Contact UsCollaborate directly with public safety challenge owners and stakeholders to understand the challenge’s operational needs and contexts.
Connect with industry leaders, senior public safety stakeholders, strategic partners, investors, and global innovation ecosystems that can accelerate your growth beyond the programme.
Invitations are only sent out to scouted start-ups with technologies that has good challenge-solution fit, cutting through the noise of negotiating and realigning expectations and needs from scratch.
Showcase the viability and impact of your proof-of-concept in real-world conditions during on-site tests.
Post-programme advisory service with guidance and opportunities to move projects towards operational trials and deployment.
Receive non-dilutive funding defined by project scope to develop and validate your proof-of-concept remotely or in Singapore.
Explore what the journey in Hatch & Match could look like, including the key milestones from problem-definition to mission impact.
There are no geographical or company size requirements for participation. All invitees must either own the IPs or have a valid license to use the IPs of the technology solution proposed.
Hatch & Match looks for tech solution(s) in the reference range of Tech Readiness Levels 4 and above. The key is for the company to have a technology in the form of a working prototype, but untested in the public safety operational environment.
Invitees will be evaluated on their fit to challenge, novelty of technology, relevant team experience, and business model. The entire selection process is conducted virtually.
Hatch & Match runs all year round without being divided into cohorts. Invitees may be invited to participate in it at any time of the year, by emails with either the @thehatchx.com or @txv.sg domains.
A panel of Hatch, Home Team challenge owners and relevant tech experts from HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency) will evaluate the applications.
Hatch does not retain any equity or ownership of the solution developed during the programme. Invitees retain full and exclusive ownership of their information and intellectual property rights.
Invitees offering customisations to existing solutions to meet challenge requirements are eligible for Hatch & Match. Those with purely market-ready products without customisations may still get in touch to be considered.
The invitee will be expected to develop a working proof-of-concept by the end of the programme either remotely or in Singapore and conduct an in-person on-site testing in Singapore at the end of the programme.
The non-dilutive prize money will cover all proof-of-concept development costs and travel arrangements with no additional travel allowance being disbursed.
At the end of Hatch & Match, this proof-of-concept will be tested in Singapore for an in-person session in an operational environment of the challenge owner’s choosing.
The information submitted by applicants will only be made available to:

If selected, a participant's proposed solution may be announced in the public domain for the purpose of marketing promotions.
Access to (potentially) sensitive data are handled on a case-by-case basis between the awarded invitee and the challenge owner. Depending on the target outcome, if real data cannot be shared, the challenge owner may request the use of open source or simulated data.
Hatch will provide support and guidance for scaling successful proofs-of-concept from Hatch & Match towards opportunities for operational trials, with the eventual goal of deployment.
